Cambodia has started constructing a new road along its border with Thailand, the China Daily has reported. A ground-breaking ceremony for the 144km road was held yesterday in the presence of the country’s Prime Minister, Hun Sen. The road will become the first national highway stretching along the Cambodia-Thai border, in the country’s northwestern Banteay Meanchey province. The road, which is being funded by a US$72 million loan from China, will take 36 months to complete.
