China to offer free entry to art galleries
Published on Feb 11, 2011
Chinese citizens will be able to visit the country’s public art galleries free-of-charge over the next two years, Xinhua reported China’s Ministry of Culture as saying yesterday. By the end of 2011, Chinese citizens will be able to enter state and provincial level art galleries for free, with the scheme being extended to all public galleries by the end of 2012. The move follows a similar scheme launched for the nation’s museums in 2008.
