Published on Dec 17, 2010
International tourist arrivals to Taiwan have exceeded five million for the first time. The five million mark was passed on 26 November this year, when Japanese tourist, Kimura Mizuho, arrived at Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport. The island is expected to reach 5.4 million visitor arrivals for the full-year 2010, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau said. This would mark a 22.9% increase from 2009. Taiwan last year recorded 4.4 million international arrivals – the first time it had exceeded the four million mark.
