SIA to fly A380 to Los Angeles

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced that it will fly its Airbus A380 to Los Angeles next year. The superjumbo will be operated on the Singapore-Tokyo-Los Angeles route from 27 March 2011. The route is currently served with a Boeing 747-400. Los Angeles will become SIA’s eighth A380 destination. The move is part of a range of increased frequencies and capacities announced for summer 2011. In Asia, four weekly flights will be added to the Singapore-Taipei route, bringing the total number of weekly services to 18, while services between Singapore and Male in the Maldives will also be increased from daily to 10 per week. Osaka services will increase to twice daily from 10 times per week.
