Singapore Marriott goes smoke-free

Published on Dec 15, 2010

Effective 1 January 2011, the Singapore Marriott will be a smoke-free hotel. Marriott International is proud to be the leader when it comes to implementing one of the most comprehensive smoke-free hotel policies in the industry.

Since the launch of Marriott International’s smoke-free initiative, more than 2,400 properties have implemented the policy, reinforcing our commitment to making our hotels more environmentally friendly, while accommodating the preferences of our guests. This decision has earned overwhelming praise from customers, and we are proud of the continuing efforts of our properties to comply with our smoke-free policy.

Antony Page, General Manager, shares, “We recognize that the vast majority of our guests favor a smoke-free hotel environment. The only way to provide this experience is to not allow smoking within the building. Therefore, we have extended this preference throughout the hotel. To accommodate the needs of guests who smoke, we offer special designated smoking areas outside the building.”
