Resorts at North Phuket’s Mai Khao Beach will play host to the first annual North Phuket Culinary Arts Festival this weekend. The Thai holiday island’s longest beach will stage three days of events celebrating the culinary and cultural talent of the area. These include Phuket’s longest dinner table, DJ sets, and the unveiling of Jim Thompson’s new summer silk collection in one-off fashion show. The
culinary weekend will conclude at JW Marriott Resort & Spa with a huge Sunday brunch. On Friday 3 December SALA Phuket Resort & Spa joins forces with the Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa to create history by dining at Phuket’s longest dining table. Spanning more than 300 metres between the two resorts, the evening will feature complimentary beer, wine and refreshments along with local and international cuisine. Following this on Saturday 4 December, guests will be able to relax at Infinity Sunsets, hosted by Anantara Phuket Villas and Aleenta Resort & Spa. Guests can sample cocktails, enjoy a beach barbeque or snack on Thai food from the markets stalls, while DJ Charles Schillings performs. Jim Thompson will also be showcasing its new beach and coastal wear collection in a fashion show. On Sunday 5 December, the JW Marriott Phuket Resort will invite guests to experience ‘The Brunch of Your Life’, featuring dishes from 14 kitchens served up on Mai Khao beach. JW Marriott’s GM, Robert Lohrmann recently spoke to TDA about his resort and the Culinary Arts Festival.
