Cambodia, Thailand to reopen disputed border

Cambodia and Thailand have announced plans to reopen the border crossing near the disputed Preah Vihear temple. According to Cambodian media reports, citing military offi cials, the two sides have started a coordinated withdrawal of troops from the area in preparation for the reopening of the international border. The crossing, which allows tourists
access to the UNESCO-listed temple from Thailand’s Sisaket province, has been closed since July 2008.
