China to be world’s largest economy by 2020

China will surpass the USA as the world’s largest economy by 2020, a report by Standard Chartered Bank has predicted. The Asian country’s economy will be twice as big as the US by 2030 and account for 24% of global economic output, up from 9% now, the report said. China’s economy is expected to expand to US$24.6 trillion in the next decade, surpassing the US’s US$23.3 trillion.
