Anonymous hero saves woman from shark attack

Published on Nov 2, 2010

A young woman was saved from a shark attack off the coast of Western Australia after a fellow swimmer grabbed the shark’s tail. According to a BBC report, the shark had bitten 19 year-old Elyse Frankcom’s leg, before the anonymous swimmer came to the rescue. The three-metre shark – suspected to be a great white - attacked Ms Frankcom on Saturday as she led a group of tourists to swim with dolphins, approximately 50km from Perth. She is now recovering in hospital, while the hero rescuer refused to talk to reporters, only saying; “It’s cool. All I want is the girl to be OK.”
