Myanmar devastated by cyclone

At least 27 people were killed and 15 are missing after a powerful cyclone struck western Myanmar yesterday, Channel NewsAsia has reported, citing local media. Cyclone Giri, which brought winds of up to 193kph, destroyed 2,800 homes, government buildings and two bridges, according to state radio. The coastal town of Kyaukpyu is reported to have been the worst hit.
