The Indonesian government is rumoured to be planning to move its administrative functions out of Jakarta, which is becoming overpopulated and is sinking. According to a Channel NewsAsia report, an area called Jonggol, about 50km south of Jakarta, is being touted as an option. Plans are now being made to connect the new centre to Jakarta’s existing transport terminals, such as Soekharno-Hatta International Airport.
