Inner Mongolia to promote Great Wall awareness
Published on Oct 5, 2010
China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region will erect signs telling people how far they are from the Great Wall, in an effort to protect and promote China’s most famous tourist attraction. Xinhua reported that, according to a 2007 survey, nearly 90% of people in Inner Mongolia did not know that the Great Wall ran through the region. The signs, which will be installed by the end of the year, will specify the dynasty, year and length of a particular section of the Wall.
