Madame Tussauds unveils waxworks in Bangkok

Published on Oct 1, 2010

Merlin Entertainments unveiled wax models at Siam Discovery in Bangkok yesterday, in preparation for the opening of Southeast Asia’s first Madame Tussauds in December. While the attraction will include international figures such as Michael Jackson and Brad Pitt, about one third of the waxworks will be local Thai celebrities as the company expects the domestic market to drive at least 75% of ticket sales. New models will be introduced within six months according to customer feedback. Merlin Entertainment will be working with various travel partners like Kuoni Holidays and GTA to drive traffic to the venue. Peter Williams, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Bangkok said that the Thai capital was the right location for the new attraction. “At the moment, Bangkok is the perfect fit,” Williams said.
