Indonesia tsunami alert after major quake

Indonesia yesterday issued a tsunami alert after a major earthquake struck off West Papua province. According to Channel NewsAsia, the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency said the 7.4-magnitude quake struck the Kepulauan Aru Islands, off the province's southwest coast. The tsunami alert was later withdrawn after the agency said it had “no potential for destruction”.
