Taiwan chippy named as one of world’s best
Published on Sep 27, 2010
Taipei is home to many fantastic dishes, but fish & chips probably wouldn’t be top of the city’s gourmet attractions - until now. UK-based travel website Skyscanner.net last week included Taipei restaurant, ‘The Frying Scotsman’ in its list of the world’s top five fish & chip shops. The website claims that the chippy, founded by Scotsman Duncan Inglis in 2005, offers “an authentic fi sh and chip experience, cooked exactly the same way as in the UK”. It was the only entry from Asia, named alongside top chippies in Paris, Glasgow, New York and the Costa del Sol.
