China launches new high-speed rail line

China’s high-speed rail network has been extended with the launch of services on a 135km stretch of track between Nanchang and Jiujiang, in the country’s eastern Jiangxi province. Trains on the route will run at speeds of up to 180kph. The new line started operating on Monday.
