AirAsia maintains zero fuel surcharge policy

Published on Sep 23, 2010

AirAsia has announced that it plans to maintain its zero fuel surcharge policy. As opposed to implementing the surcharges, the low-cost carrier said it will continue to strengthen its ancillary revenue sector. “Our strong seat sales and successful ancillary income are enough to offset the rise in fuel price. Rather than impose a fuel surcharge, we use innovation to drive our costs down and are looking at various other revenue streams,” said Kathleen Tan, Regional Head of Commercial, AirAsia.
