Sydney to host Korean Film Festival

The 1st (KOFFIA) Korean Film Festival in Australia will be held at Dendy Opera Quays, Sydney. KOFFIA will run from 1st - 5th October 2010 from Friday to Tuesday over the coming October long weekend. You can get your fill of Korean action, comedy, drama, pop and documentary films.

The inaugural KOFFIA presents eight dynamic and diverse contemporary Korean films along with other cultural events and guest speaker programs.

The festival will open with Bong Joon Ho's Mother, the 2009 Cannes featured film and Korea's official submission for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2010 Academy Awards. KOFFIA will present a diverse range of Korean films to satisfy your cinematic desire. Expect the unexpected!

Korea's famous actress Jeon Do Youn headlines two films of the festival lineup. Her distinct performances in The Housemaid (Dir. Im Sang-soo) and Secret Sunshine (Dir. Lee Chang-dong) will simply mesmerize you, managing to completely surprise and amaze your sensibilities.
