China has suspended official aviation talks with Japan in the row over a captive sailor. According to Xinhua, state- and provincial-level contact had been suspended, including talks on aviation. The dispute centres on the detention of a ship captain accused of ramming a Japanese vessel off a chain of disputed islands, known as Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China.
