Beijing’s new subway line starts trial ops

Beijing subway’s new Changping Line launched trial operations yesterday, Xinhua has reported. Changping is one of four new lines expected to launch services by the end of the year, by which time the total length of the subway network will be extended to 300km. The 22km, seven-station Changping line will link Xi’erqi station on Line 13 to Changping district. A second phase of construction will extend the line a further 10km north, to the Thirteen Tombs Scenic Area.
