An unidentified flying object caused the closure of Baotou airport, in China’s Inner Mongolia region, for more than an hour on Saturday evening. According to local media reports, the UFO was spotted hovering approximately 4km east of the airport. The landing of three flights from Shanghai and Beijing were delayed, while two other planes were diverted to other airports. No further details about the UFO were given, but it adds to a list of UFO related airport closures in China this year. The most recent incident forced the closure of Hangzhou airport in July, after offi cials reported a “shining light” in the skies above the airport.
