Stand-up airline travel
Published on Sep 14, 2010
An aircraft cabin design company in Italy has released images of the first ‘stand up’ plane seats. The SkyRider seat from Aviointeriors could make Ryanair boss, Micheal O’Leary’s vision of standing airline passengers a reality. The seat has the potential to revolutionise the airline industry with a whole new class of travel. The seats are lighter than conventional ones and take up far less space which will allow airlines to increase the number of passengers on board. If it catches on, tickets could be available for as little as US$10.
