Seoul Design Fair (SDF) 2010 will be held at the Seoul Olympic Stadium and in the city's four design clusters -- Hongdae Area, Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), Gasan Digital Complex and Sinsa-dong area -- for 21 days from September 17 to October 7.
Formerly known as "Seoul Design Olympiad (SDO)," the annual design festival, which started in 2008 to commemorate Seoul's selection as World Design Capital 2010, is meant to be enjoyed by everyone from designers, design experts, citizens to foreign tourists.
"Seoul Design Fair will enhance the overall competitiveness of the country's design industry, as the event features design works of the world's top-notch designers and design houses," said Choi Kyung-ran, a design professor of Seoul's Kookmin University and the Director General of the SDF 2010.
SDF 2010 will differentiate itself from previous festivals, with programs for the socially less privileged, such as a lecture on Braille design. Under the theme of "Design for All," this year's fair will feature various different types of academic and cultural events organized in the three broad categories: Economy, Participation, and Education.
