China upgrades east end of Great Wall

Work has begun to repair the eastern end of the Great Wall of China, Xinhua reported offi cials in Liaoning province as saying. The ‘Hushan’ section of the Wall, constructed in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), stretches along the border between China and North Korea. The CNY30 million (US$4.4 million) project, which is expected to be complete by the end of the year, will also improve tourist facilities at the attraction.
