Madame Tussauds HK unveils ‘Detective Dee’ stars

Published on Sep 3, 2010

The red carpet was rolled out today at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong to welcome the Asian mega stars of the epic suspense movie “Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame” - Andy Lau and Li Bingbing. The movie directed by Tsui Hark will compete for the Golden Lion in the 67th Venice Film Festival from September 1-11, 2010 and hit Hong Kong cinemas on September 30, 2010.

The “world famous home of the famous” already houses Andy Lau’s wax figure in its Hong Kong attraction. To spice up the commemorative “premiere” in Hong Kong, Andy Lau’s wax figure was given a new look and Li Bingbing’s wax figure was borrowed from the Shanghai attraction. It is the first time Li Bingbing’s wax figure is being exhibited in Hong Kong.

Prior to the two stars officiating the premiere, two children performers mimicked the movie characters by dressing in their costumes and performing the martial arts stunts.
