Shanghai Airlines forced to land after smoke fills cabin

A Shanghai Airlines flight carrying 131 passengers to Hong Kong was forced to return to Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport on Monday after smoke from the plane’s air-conditioning system filled the cabin, the Shanghai Daily has reported. Emergency oxygen masks were deployed on the Boeing 757 aircraft as smoke spread to the economy class cabin. A spokesperson for the airline told the newspaper that an investigation into the accident was now underway.
