UAE bans Blackberry
Published on Aug 2, 2010
Business travellers will not be able to rely on their Blackberry (BB) on visits to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from October. The state has banned Blackberry after parties failed to make BB services compatible with UAE legislation. The problem is that some BB services such as email, BB push and web browsing are beyond the implementation of UAE laws. This is a shock move in a country that has established itself as a major business hub with an estimated half million BB users. The ban will disrupt communications and service providers have been advised to offer alternatives reports ABC News.
