Business as usual despite strikes at Sydney Airport

Despite strikes, Sydney Airport insists there will be no delays to flights today. The refuellers' strike comes after a pay row erupted between the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and Airport Fuel Services (AFS). According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the dispute centres on a proposed pay deal from AFS that would result in casual employees being paid lower rates than permanent staff. Sydney Airport spokesman Michael Samaras said; "Operations at the airport are all normal. All the departures and arrivals are taking place as per normal."
