Typhoon Conson strikes China and Vietnam

Typhoon Conson continued its devastating run through Asia as it made landfall in northern Vietnam on Saturday leaving a number of people dead and many more missing. Before reaching Vietnam the storm battered China's southern island of Hainan with heavy rain and 100kph gusts. Xinhua reported the death of a security guard and a motorcyclist after both individuals were struck by falling billboards. According to the BBC, flights, shipping and ferries were suspended as the Conson slammed into the opular tourist destination.
