Peninsula HK, Changi airport get toilet recognition
Published on Jul 14, 2010
The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong and Singapore’s Changi International Airport are no strangers to winning awards, but few can be more unusual than the recent ‘honour’ they received from Chinese state news agency, Xinhua. Both the Peninsula HK and Changi made Xinhua’s ‘Top 10 toilets with fascinating view on Earth’ list this week. Toilets at the Peninsula Hong Kong were honoured for overlooking he city’s famous harbour, while Changi’s toilets were recognised for their views of departing and arriving planes. Other toilets on the list included a brick outhouse on the world’s largest salt flat in Bolivia, a watchtower toilet at Alcatraz Island in the US, and an ice hut at Alaska’s Mount McKinley.
