Vietnam, Thailand & Laos agree tourism cooperation

A conference on tourism cooperation between Vietnam’s Quang Tri province, Savanakhet province in Laos and Thailand eastern Mukdahan province was held in Vietnam on 26 June, as part of the East-West Economic Corridor Forum. The Vietnam National Administration for Tourism (VNAT) said that the three provinces had managed to “significantly” increase visitor levels, although exact figures were not reported. Areas of cooperation included tourism promotion, and investment in a chain of restaurants and souvenir shops along the Corridor. At the conference, the three provinces agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to further tourism development.
