The Thai government has lifted the curfews that have been in place in Bangkok and 23 provinces for the past nine days. Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said that the decision was in line with the recommendation by the Centre for the Resolution of Emergency Situation (CRES), which had confirmed the unrest following the crackdown on recent anti-government protests was now under control. The curfew was lifted on Saturday.
