Fatal train crash strands thousands in Shanghai

Thousands of train passengers were left stranded in Shanghai yesterday following the train crash that killed 19 people in Jiangxi province on Sunday. According to a Shanghai Daily report, the incident, which occurred when a landslide derailed a Shanghai-Guilin train, led to the cancellation of eight train services from Shanghai South Railway Station. Six other train services were delayed. The station set up 12 extra booths to cater for passenger refunds, the report added.
