5/13/2010
A passenger plane has crashed in Libya, killing all but one of the 104 people on board, the BBC has reported officials in the capital Tripoli as saying. The Airbus A330 aircraft, operated by Afriqiya Airways, crashed on landing at Tripoli airport after a flight from Johannesburg. 93 passengers and 11 crew are thought to have been on board the aircraft; only one person – a young boy - is reported to have survived. The cause of the crash was not immediately known, but reports indicate that the aircraft crashed short of the runway during its approach.
