Further ash delays hit European flights

The cloud of volcanic ash caused hundreds of trans-Atlantic flights to be cancelled or delayed late last week. According to a BBC report, 16 Spanish airports were closed on Friday and Saturday, causing many flights to be re-routed. Airspace in northern Italian airspace was closed on Sunday morning, with Milan Bergamo among airports affected.
