Dreamliner undergoes extreme weather testing

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner has begun a series of extreme-weather tests in Florida. A special hangar at the McKinley Climatic Laboratory allows the aircraft to experience heat as high as 46oC and as low as -43oC. After the plane is stabilised at either the hot or cold temperatures, flight test technicians will perform the steps required to prepare the Dreamliner to operate under these conditions. A crew of 100 people travelled from Seattle to support the test operations.
