Suvarnabhumi plans for travel disruption

Published on Mar 11, 2010

Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport, which was closed by protesters in 2008, has made contingency plans for protests this weekend. Channel NewsAsia reported the airport as saying that plans were in place to deal with any possible blockade when anti-government protesters gather in the Thai capital this weekend. Without revealing the exact nature of the plans, the airport’s General Manager, Nirandra Theeranartsin, said there was a contingency plan in case of travel disruption. A statement also advised international travellers to check-in three to four hours before flying.
