India studies bullet train feasibility

India’s Railway Board has started exploring the feasibility of introducing bullet trains on the 533km Pune-Mumbai-Ahmedabad route, The Times of India has reported. A study was reportedly carried out recently with the help of French firm, Systra, and Italferr of Italy, incorporated a study of track alignments, fare structure and volume of passengers travelling on the route. Any such project will require a brand new track, the report added.
