Shark attack at the Whitsunday Islands

An Australian woman has survived a shark attack off the Whitsunday Islands – a popular tourist destination in Queensland. According to a BBC report, 60 year-old Paddy Trumbull repeatedly punched and kicked the 1.5-metre shark when it attacked during a snorkelling trip. Mrs Trumbull suffered deep bite wounds and blood loss and was airlifted to hospital.
