South Korea to build new city

The South Korean government has announced plans to develop Sejong into a centre of science, education and business by 2020. According to a Korea Herald report, Samsung, Hanwha, Woongjin, Lotte and Austria’s SSF have agreed to invest a total of KRW4.5 trillion (US$4.2 billion) and create 23,000 jobs in the new city. Previous plans to turn Sejong an administrative centre have been scrapped, the report added.
