After two years of large-scale renovations, the museum reopens in September 3, 2016 with a new name: Tokyo Photographic Art Museum (TOP Museum for short).
The museum, first opened in Tokyo's Ebisu Garden Place in 1995, has served as Japan's only public museum dedicated to photography and moving images.
Hiroshi Sugimoto, world renowned photographer born in Tokyo and based in New York, is to give a special exhibition celebrating the Grand Reopening and 20 Year Anniversary of the Museum: Lost Human Genetic Archive. World Press Photo 2016 is also to be held back home again. Visit their brand-new website for more information.
