Just In Time: Aviation's Most Punctual, Japan

The Japanese have earned a reputation for their politeness and punctuality, and a recent study re-affirms the their penchant for punctuality, at least in the airline industry.
Global aviation data company, OAG, revealed that Osaka's Itami Airport was one of the world's best performing airports in 2014, while Japan Airlines was Asia Pacific region's most punctual airline. With 93.2% of its arrivals and departures occurring within 15 minutes of scheduled time, Osaka Airport led the whole world in terms of on-time performance in the midsized airport category. It was also the second best performing airport in the world, with only the UK's Bristol Airport (94.4%) achieving a better on-time performance.
JAL meanwhile, managed to ensure that 88.8% of its flights arrived on time - the best of any airline in the Asia Pacific region and the ninth best in the world. AirBaltic was the world's most punctual airline in 2014 according to OAG's data, with 94.9% of its flights
arriving on time.
