3rd Planet and TAT launch new interactive 3D tour
A new virtual reality tour has been created that gives visitors the change to look inside Bangkok's Grand Palace.
Created by 3rd Planet and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the new online tour takes guests on an interactive 3D journey around the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha. It is accessible via 3rd Planet's Wonders of the World platform, which is available for both desktop and mobile devices.
"This 3D virtual reality tour of the Grand Palace will allow travelers from all over the world to enjoy a much greater understanding of Thailand's best-loved tourist attraction and its rich history," said Thapanee Kiatphaibool, director of the TAT's marketing information technology group.
"By taking the tour, they will get a real feel for the place and can plan an itinerary for when they visit for real. And what is more, they will have an even greater understanding of the Palace's importance to Thailand, its art and architecture."
During the tours, virtual travelers can access information about the history of the temple and palaces, and will be able to zoom in and out for a more detailed look. It also features information about shuttle bus services, F&B outlets, and opening/closing times.
3rd Planet said it now plans to follow up the Grand Palace offering with new interactive 3D tours of famous landmarks and destinations in China, Indonesia, Brunei, the Philippines, Japan and Nepal.
