Celebrating 40 in Singapore with a 30-meter bread pudding

Proving that sometimes you can’t have too much of a good thing, Carousel restaurant at Royal Plaza on Scotts created Singapore’s longest bread and butter pudding on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. The slightly bizarre bake-off was held in honor of the hotels 40th anniversary. The 30-meter confection contained 220 liters of cream, 75 kilograms of eggs, 80 liters of milk, 150 loaves of white bread, and enough calories to make a heart surgeon’s jaw drop. The super-sized signature dessert was 3,000 portions and diners were invited to donate money to a local preschool supported by Community Chest.
