Hermès is delighted to present masculins singuliers, an installation around the world of Hermès men from May 1 to May 11, 2014.

For 11 days, the Hermès store at Scotts Square in Singapore will be  dedicated entirely to men.

Hermès has been “masculine” from the very start, with an extraordinary range of finely crafted objects for men. The installations will incorporate a complete universe of Hermès products including men’s clothing, men’s silk, leather goods, accessories, watches, shoes, furniture and fragrances.

HermesAt the centre of the installation at Hermès Scotts Square is the menswear collection designed by Véronique Nichanian, Men’s Artistic Director for Hermès. The Spring Summer 2014 collection exudes a playful sporting elegance and chic sophistication.

Véronique Nichanian creates a style that defies time. She designs “vêtements-objets” which fall outside the strict confines of fashion, clothing that one attributes to oneself, and which is created to last.  As Véronique says: “I make clothes, not fashion. I believe in clothes you can keep for a long time, just as I believe in lasting friendships.

The keen attention she pays to materials, colors, cuts and proportions, in their smallest detail, fills her collections with sensuality, balance and a timeless quality. In the manner of an interrupted conversation she brings out season after season, something which soothes, where the beauty of what changes is fixed on a softened temporality.

Using an innovative continuity between what was and what will be, she shows that before being an object, a man’s clothing is a story that tells itself, a speech which embodies itself, and a point in time which continues flowing – like an ally.

Bearing testament to the enduring timelessness of Véronique Nichanian’s creations, the Leather Timeline brings to life a collection of leather jackets that have become the companions of men around the world.

And in a hat-tip to the Hermès spirit of travel and innovation, visitors will be greeted by the Yamaha VMax motorbike, upholstered by Hermès in leather,as well as Le Flâneur d’Hermès bicycles.
