Skyscanner survey identifies dream airport facilities. Cinemas topped a list of features travelers would most like to see at airports.
A global survey of more than 10,000 travelers, undertaken by travel search site Skyscanner, found that most airline passengers, not content with watching movies while in the air, also want to catch the latest films while they’re waiting for a flight.
An airport cinema was selected by 49% of flyers in the Skyscanner poll, making it by far the most popular choice. Sleeping pods were selected by 36% of travelers, making them the second most popular facility, and despite the rise of e-books, 32% of travelers said they would like to see airports equipped with their own libraries. This would allow travelers to take out a book before departure and return it after landing back home.
Travelers also appear keen for some open space, with an airport park (31%) the fourth most popular pick, ahead of an area for spa and beauty treatments (30%), kids play area (21%) and swimming pool (20%).
