Work has started on a railway line connecting Shanghai with the city of Nantong, in eastern China's Jiangsu province. The Shanghai Daily reported local officials as saying that the 137km 'Hutong Railway' will mark the completion of a network of railway lines stretching down China's east coast, from Shandong province in the north to Fujian province in the south. The new line will also include a new 1,092-metre bridge over the Yangtze River.
