Asia welcomes Year of the Snake

Festivities have been held across Asia to welcome the Chinese Year of the Snake. Throughout the region, ﬁreworks lit up the skies and colorful parades and shows delighted onlookers. In Hong Kong, a procession of 36 ﬂoats marked the annual night parade, while in Thailand a troupe of dancers and acrobats from several Chinese provinces performed in Bangkok. In Singapore's Chinatown, along with cities across the region, streets were ﬁlled with traditional lion dances, food stalls and parades.
