Asia Pacific airlines among world's safest

Seven of the world's 10 safest airlines are based in Asia and the Pacific region, according to a new report. In the annual JACDEC Airline Safety Rankings, based on all accidents suff ered over the past 30 years, Finnair was found to be the world's safest airline, ahead of Air New Zealand and Cathay Pacific. The Middle East’s two biggest airlines, Emirates and Etihad, came next, ranking fourth and fi fth respectively, followed by Taiwan's EVA Air in sixth. TAP Portugal, Hainan Airlines, Virgin Australia and British Airways completed the top 10. No US-based airline featured in the top 10.
