Vietnam named hottest new travel market for 2013

Vietnam has been identified as Asia's hottest new travel destination by US-based Travel Leaders Group. In its '2013 Travel Trends Survey', the group quizzed more than 1,000 American travel agency owners, managers and frontline travel agents about their predictions for next year, with 92% predicting that their clients will spend more on travel in 2013 than in 2012. Asked which Asian countries will be the biggest 'upand- coming' destinations next year, an overwhelming 48.3% identified Vietnam, ahead of Indonesia (7.6%), Myanmar (7.2%), Cambodia (7.2%) and Malaysia (6.8%). New Zealand was voted as the hottest market in the Pacifi c, ahead of Australia. The main driver of spending according to the US agents however, will be travel to Europe, with European cruising found to be especially popular.
